Rank:

Principal Research Officer

Area of specialization:

Plant Genetics

Official Email:

matthew.olumide@nihort.gov.ng

Qualification:

Ph. D. Botany

Brief Profile

My overall research interest is in Evolutionary Genetics of plants, studying the genetic basis of evolutionary pattern and adaption, with current focus on effect of polyploidy on evolution and adaption of plant species. I employ the use of phenotypic tools, cytogenetics, and molecular techniques to explain the processes of gene exchange, speciation, reproductive isolation and gene multiplication in plant species.
