Brief Profile

Oladunni Akinpelu holds a PhD in Agronomy with option of Soil Microbiology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a chief research scientist in the Vegetable Improvement Programme of the National Horticultural Research Institute, Nigeria. She is an early career researcher interested in making impact in the field of soil health/Global One Health by influencing agricultural practices adopted to find new balances between the production of horticultural crops, managing natural resources, environmental sustainability including its various linkages to the Sustainable Development Goals. Her research interest include plant-microbe interactions and soil metagenomics.

She is a beneficiary of the prestigious Australia Award and Orange Knowledge program (OKP) fellowship by the University of Sydney, Australia and Netherlands Government, respectively which has broadened her horizon on the various tools required to make IMPACT in Agricultural Research.
