A study was conducted to examine the participation of women in ginger (Zingiber officinale) production in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Primary data were used with the aid of a structured questionnaire. Ten respondents were randomly selected from the survey areas. Percentages and the frequency counts were used to analyse the data. The result showed that only women above the middle aged are actually involved in ginger production in the study area which is 20% of the respomdents. From the analysis also, it was revealed that ginger (Zingiber officinale) which is considered as a profitable venture for rural women has numerous problems confronting its production and the major ones include: inadequate capital, high cost of seeds, dominance by males, pre occupation with household chores and taboos. In addition, recommendations were given for the aforementioned problems in the area under study. To enhance performance, Government, research institutes and other agencies should embark on sound policies to remove all identified impediments.
