Abstract

occiudentalis to Meloidogyne incognita populationand its effect onsome growth parameters. Four weeks old seedlings of each of the T. occiudentalis lines Field study was conducted to test the susceptibility of four line of Felfaria transplanted into field, were artificially infested with either zero(0) or 40,000 eggs of Meloidogyne incognita Race 2. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design replicated four times with eight treatment. The growth parameters: such as vine length, number of vines, leaf number, fresh vine weight and dry weight, of line EN2000-1 were significantly different from those of toher varieties. Significant differences were observed in the number of nematode eggs in root, juveniles in 200ml soil and gall index of inoculated treatments. There was significant differences in shoot weight except that line EN2000-1. The overall result indicated that lines EN2000-6, EN2000-25 and EN2000-16 were intolerant to Meloidogyne incognita while EN2000-1 was susceptible
