Abstract

Limited access to research results in horticulture and consequent effects on the target sectors of research, extension and training were identified as major constraints to horticultural development in Nigeria.
The need to establish sustainable information systems and incorporate them to development strategies was explored. Information sources were listed. The issue of inaccessibility can be addressed by regular training of the scientists on the use of information centres and exposure to modern information technology viz: Computer, CD-ROM, E-Mail and the Internet to access information in horticulture research.
