Abstract

To improve and preserve the viability of citrus rootstock seeds under room conditions, rootstock seeds were subjected to various seed treatments: Duration of storage, time of air drying, seeds coat treatments and storage medium.
Air drying Cleopatra mandarin seeds for up to 48 hours did not significantly affect viability. Storage of rough lemon seeds for more than 10 weeks deceased viability. Viability of untreated Cleopatra mandarin seeds stored in polybags or baft bags were as good as seeds treated with charcoal dust and stored in baft bags.
