Abstract

The effects of different concentrations of GA3, IAA, NAA and ABA on the germination and seedling vigour of Cleopatra mandarin (C. reticulate) were evaluated GA3 150ppm. NAA 25ppm and untreated seeds (control) gave best germination. NAA 75ppm gave best plumule and radical growth. All phytohormones (excepts GA3 750ppm at high and low concentrations) enhanced leaf production. GA3 150ppm, NAA 25ppm, and ABA 50ppm significantly enhanced stem girth of Cleopatra mandarin seedlings. ABA 250ppm significantly increased dry matter accumulation of seedlings. The consistent positive effects of NAA 25ppm at the germination and seedlings growth state suggest its use is promising in the citrus nurseries.
