Maize and Egg-plant were intercropped at Nihort, Ibadan during the rainy season of 1997. The crops were grown without cymbush application. The experiment was laid out in a split-plot arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The results showed that the performance of maize was slightly affected by intercropping or spray regime while yield of egg-plant was enhanced (7.9 t/ha) in sole cropping. However, the LER (1.07) showed that maize and egg-pant are compartible and can be grown on the field in association.
