Brief Profile

Dr Olayiwola Akin. Akintola had his B.Sc in Agricultural Engineering, M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering (Soil and Water Conservation Engineering Option) and Ph.D in Environmental Engineering from University of Ibadan in 1994, 2001 and 2010 respectively. His current areas of research includes biomonitoring of selected horticultural crops planted on polluted soils, remediation of polluted soils and water, utilization of horticultural wastes for income generation and environmental sustainability, monitoring of residual effects of agrochemicals on selected horticultural crops, monitoring of water bodies for suitability for potable, monitoring of effects of environmental pollution on groundwater quality, irrigation and other uses and development of irrigation schedules for some horticultural crops in selected locations in Nigeria using AQUACROP and CROPWAT models. He is also an expert in irrigation design and installations, solar systems design and installation, GIS and remote sensing analysis.
